Author Guidelines

At-Tarbawi Jurnal Kajian Kependidikan Islam (ISSN: 1693-4032) is an academic journal published by Islamic Education and Teacher Training Faculty, Institut Agama Islam Negeri Surakarta. At-Tarbawi is published twice a year in January and July. It publishes manuscripts within the field ofIslamic Education studies.

At-Tarbawi Jurnal Kajian Kependidikan Islam receives manuscripts from scientists, academicians, researchers, and professionals in the disciplines of Islamic education through manuscript selection, review section, and editing section.The manuscript submitted in this journal must be article that has not been published before and may be written in Indonesian, English, or Arabic. Manuscript which is considered to be published must fulfill the following terms and conditions:

  1. Articles are original works and have not been published for publication in other journals or books.
  2. Articles must be between15-20 pages, and are typed 1,5 space in quarto paper size / A4 (21 cm x 29,7 cm) with Times New Roman or Times New Arabic (for Arabic words or terms) font 12pt, and Rich Text Format.
  3. Articles must contain abstract (150-200words) in English. The abstract must contain 3-5 keywords.
  4. Articles are arranged in the following guideline: title, name of author, name of institution, abstract, introduction, literarture review (including theory and method), discussion, conclusion, and bibliography.
  5. Foreign or local terms, except name of a person or a place, which have not been localized into Indonesian, must be written in italic. Arabic terms must be in italic with Times New Arabic font obeying the transliteration reference from Ministry of Religious Affair 1988.
  6. Reference list format is based on American Psychologists Association Styles (APA), i.e. using bodynote reference, for example: (Toto Suharto, 2006: 20). Reference list should appear at the end of the article and include only literatures actually cited in the manuscripts. References are ordered alphabetically and chronologically. When writing a reference list, please use the following conventions:

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
