Al-Balagh: Jurnal Dakwah dan Komunikasi is a scientific publication that aims to facilitate scholarly discussions and publish academic articles on a number of studies in empirical research in the field of Da'wa and Communication. Double-blind peer reviewed submissions are published by the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Dakwah, IAIN Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia in collaborate with APDI (Asosiasi Profesi Dakwah Indonesia).
Al-Balagh : Jurnal Dakwah dan Komunikasi has been accredited by The Ministry of Education and Culture, Republic of Indonesia as an academic journal in Sinta 2 (SK Dirjen Penguatan Riset dan Pengembangan Kemristekdikti No.28/E/KPT/2019) and is valid for 5 years from Volume 4 No. 1 2019 to Volume 8 Nomor 1 2023.
Al-Balagh is open to academics, students, researchers, and practitioners who are interested in contributing their thoughts, especially in the field of Da'wa and Communication.
The main focus of al-Balagh journal is on the exploration of dynamics propagation in Islamic proselytizing, studies of communication science, and the development of contemporary media in both the theoretical and practical realms, spanning the local, national, and global scopes
Sub themes and scope in the scientific publications of al-Balagh include:
1. Da'wa and Islamic propagation:
a. Studies in the science of da'wa, such as history of da'wa, philosophy of da'wa, and methodology of da'wa, include in culturally, economically, and politically.
b. Management of da'wa that related to make a plan and strategy for Islamic proselytizing, Islamic global tourism, and Islamic management and religious tourism.
c. Da'wa, especially in the analysis of social and psychological, Islamic counseling, and the relationship between da'wa and socio-cultural studies.
2. Communication science:
a. Studies in communication science in general, communication theory, and approaches in communication, interpersonal communication, group communication, and organizational communication.
b. Political communication, including the strategies of political communication, political campaigns, political marketing, governance, public policy, and political parties.
c. Development of communication, such as the communication planning, communication and contemporary issues, and communication management.
d. Communication science in the study of psychology and social culture, include in the field of sociology of communication, psychology of communication, communication and local wisdom, and intercultural communication.
e. Media studies, including the scope of journalism, mass communication, mass media management, media content analysis, and new media studies.
f. Public Relations (PR), consisting of human relations, corporate social resposibility (CSR), media relations, public affair, marketing communications, and advertising.

All submitted manuscripts have not been published before or being submitted to other journals. All received manuscripts undergo double blind reviews. For the first process, the editors professionally select the manuscripts based on the required standard. Manuscripts deserve anti-plagiarism verification using turnitin. Have been verified, the manuscripts sent to the editorial boards that comes from outside host Institute. It is a duty for the authors to revise the manuscripts based on the editorial boards feedback; and back it soon to the editor two weeks after. Finally, the manuscripts will be printed and published on the al-Balagh website.

All submitted manuscripts will be double-checked for plagiarism using at least two anti-plagiarism softwares and Al-Balagh unique detection of plagiarism. The submitted manuscripts written under the same 100% or less condition as other published manuscripts would be blacklisted.

What is the responsibility of a peer reviewer? Peer reviewers are responsible for assessing the quality of manuscripts that will be accepted into the journal. Their main task is to critically evaluate manuscripts based on their specialty as well as provide constructive feedback to the authors. Additionally, peer reviewers are also expected to assess the relevance, originality, strength, and weaknesses of the manuscript. What are the procedures that need to be taken?

Accuracy of the research method | Have the authors written all essential information needed in a method section (e.g., study design, variables, instruments, subjects, analytic approach, etc)? Was the sampling appropriate? Was enough information given to enable study replication? Was the study design appropriate for answering the research question/objective? |
Depth of discussion | Have the authors clearly written the strength and limitation of their research? Have the authors conducted an in-depth analysis of how their study relates to the context of other existing studies? |
Accuracy of conclusion | Did the author/s draw an appropriate conclusion based on the analysis? Does the conclusion relate to the study objective? |
Adequate number of primary, relevant, and current literature | Reviewers should assess the number of primary literature that is relevant and recent. Al-Balagh: Jurnal Dakwah dan Komunikasi strongly suggests the use of primary and recent literature. |
Points to consider | Reviewers are asked to provide detailed, constructive comments that will help the editors make a decision regarding publication and how the authors could improve their manuscript. A key issue is whether the work has serious methodological flaws that should preclude its publication, or whether additional experiments or data are required to support the conclusions. Where possible, reviewers should provide references to substantiate their comments. |
What ethical regulations must I abide to?
Reviewers should only accept to review a manuscript that they can confidently say they will be able to critically review and return in a timely manner.
Confidentiality | Reviewers must ensure that all review processes are kept confidential. Any details of the manuscript (e.g., content, review comments) should remain confidential during and after the review process. |
Plagiarism | Reviewers must not use any information or data obtained from the reviewed manuscript for their own personal use. Should reviewers find that the reviewed manuscript substantially copy another work, reviewers are expected to immediately let the editor know. |
Objectiveness | Peer reviewers are expected to uphold an objective and honest view during the review process. They should not be influenced by:
